Here's a sentence I thought I would never write. Joan Armatrading rocks! She does here anyway. In contrast to her last CD's earthy blues, the 59 year old British singer-guitarist's 17th studio disc finds her unleashing her inner guitar hero as she plugs in and wails away on edgy pop cuts and power-chord rockers closer to The Pretenders or Eurythmics that Drop the Pilot. Freaky.
