Chord charts to Joan's songs are purchased from the Download store, which is a separate store to the clothing, CD and DVDs store. Payment for the chord charts are also made in a separate payment from  clothing, CDs or DVDs. Joan gets many requests to sign photos and CDs. She will do her best to sign and return your CDs or photos but we cannot guarantee that we have received your item nor can we guarantee their safe return. Any items you send to be signed you undertake at your own risk. Perhaps the best way of getting an item signed is to bring it along to a gig and Joan will sign it at the stage door. Joan gets many requests for dedications at her shows and feels it would be unfair to do some and not others. Instead she feels that the gig is a dedication to all the people who are attending and a thank you for their loyalty.

First off all, please check to see if your cookies are enabled.
Then also look at the how do I empty my cache question in the list and follow
those instructions. Do both of these and you should be fine. The answer below
is on how to enable cookies.

Mozilla Firefox (1.0 final release and earlier)

  • Go to the "Tools" menu.
  • Select "Options".
  • Select the "Privacy" icon in the left panel.
  • Check the box corresponding to "Allow sites to set cookies".
  • Click "OK" to save changes.

Netscape 7.1/Mozilla 5.0

  • Select "Preferences" from the Edit menu.
  • Click on the arrow next to "Privacy & Security" in the scrolling window to expand.
  • Under "Privacy & Security", select "Cookies."
  • Select "Enable all cookies".
  • Click "OK".

Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0+

  • Select "Internet Options" from the Tools menu.
  • Click on the "Privacy" tab.
  • Click the "Default" button (or manually slide the bar down to "Medium") under "Settings".
  • Click "OK".

Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x

  • Select "Internet Options" from the Tools menu.
  • Click on the "Security" tab.
  • Click the "Custom Level" button.
  • Scroll down to the "Cookies" section.
  • To enable:
    • Set "Allow cookies that are stored on your computer" to "Enable".

  • Select "Internet Options" from the View menu.

ANSWER: How do I empty my cache

When you experience problems with pages not refreshing (when you keep seeing the old version of the page) you need to clear the "Cache" and the "History" on your browser, and also set the "Temporary Internet File" settings so that they look for changes to the webpage at "every visit to the page". The default behaviour of the browser (IE), is to check automatically. Ideally you should have your settings as below:

1. Go to "Tools";
2. Then click on "Settings";
3. Make sure your settings are as seen in the image below (these will vary from version to version):

(please note where it says Joan Armatrading Site on this image it will say your computer details)

Having done that you need to "Empty of your Cache". First thing to do is to press the "Refresh" button on your browser. If that does not work, then clear your Cache by doing the following:

Clearing cache in MS Internet Explorer: 
1. Go to "Tools" and then "Internet Options".
2. A new window will pop up. Look for "Temporary Internet Files".
3. Now click on "Delete Files".
4. Click "OK"


Clearing cache in Netscape Navigator:
1. Go to "Edit" and then "Preferences".
2. Now go to "Advanced" and click on the plus sign.
3. Click on "Cache".
4. Now click on "Clear Memory Cache".
5. Then click "OK".

On occasions, after following the instructions above you might need to restart your computer in order for the changes you've made to be effective.

ANSWER: How do I send a message to someone on Jabaspace
If you have not logged into your account then you should log in. Then click on the Jabaspace name on the home page. Now click on the image of the person you want to contact. When you click on the image you will get the profile of that person. You will then see the send message button. If you would like to remain in contact with this person you should add them to your favourite in your control
panel.

You will also be able to find members by clicking on search.

ANSWER: How do I upload pictures to Jabaspace
Log in to your Jabaspace account and click on MY PICTURES.
That’s right you have to upload your own pictures from your computer to Jabaspace. When you click on MY PICTURES you see this these words if you have never added a picture to your page

YOU SEE THESE WORDS IF YOU HAVE NEVER UPLOADED A PICTURE TO JABASPACE
So far you uploaded 0 pictures. You can upload up to 10 pictures in total.
Add picture | View pictures

OK so what you have to do is click on the text that says ADD PICTURE

When you do that you will a silhouette face that says no picture and to the right of that you see a blank box that you can write in and underneath that you see a button that says BROWSE. Click the BROWSE button and upload the picture that you want to see there from your computer. In the blank box you would type in whatever words you want to go with that picture.

When you sign up to Jabaspace you can talk to the whole network. But in order to store more than 15 of your favourites you will need to upgrade.

After you have activated your account the first thing we advise you to do is upload your own image.
The image can be a picture of you or anything you like. This will allow you to be seen on the network

Do this by logging into your account and click on the My Pictures link in the nav bar. Then click on Add picture.

Your picture must be NO SMALLER than the small image you see if you click here
If your picture is any smaller you will be asked to try again. The picture can be larger. This is a good size for a large image click here

VERY IMPORTANT: your images MUST be .jpg .jpeg or .gif you will not be able to upload any other image file types. DO NOT TRY TO UPLOAD BITMAP IMAGES
